Why Choose Our Project

Outdoors

Immersed in the outdoors with resources that make it fun and safe no matter the weather. Fire pit, Dearden Brook, the Bell Tent and more, make a perfect adventure playground.

Local

Secluded but close by is a nice way to describe The Eden-field Project. Hidden away in the valley, close to Edenfield village, local to Ramsbottom and not far from other areas in Rossendale.

Wider Community

The Eden-field Project is part of a family of projects all about being a great space. We are proud of our spaces and make us push more to keep every space its best.

Our Spaces

Fire Pit

A fire pit is an outdoor structure designed to safely contain a fire, often used for warmth, cooking, or creating a cosy gathering space. Our fire pit is a huge metal bowl covered by a roof, surrounded by huge log stumps.

Mud Kitchen

A mud kitchen is an outdoor play station where children can engage in imaginative and sensory play using mud, water, and natural materials. The Prancing Pig kitchen is made from wood and equipped with pots, pans, bowls, and utensils, it mimics a real kitchen setup, encouraging role play and creativity.

Dam Building

Dam building is an outdoor activity where children work individually or in groups to create small dams using natural materials like mud, rocks, and sticks to block or redirect the flow of water. This hands-on, playful challenge utilises Dearden Brook that flows from the Scout Moor down to Ramsbottom where it meets the River Irwell.

Seed Planting

A seed planting activity involves children planting seeds in soil, either in pots, garden beds, or outdoor spaces, and caring for them as they grow. It’s a hands-on way to learn about nature, life cycles, and responsibility. We use all plants to help with our conservation efforts at the project.

Book Club

A local group activity where participants read the same book and come together to discuss its themes, characters, and ideas, or we delve into a story together as a group!

Arts

Arts and crafts is a creative activity where we use various materials—like paper, glue, paint, fabric, and natural items—to make decorative or functional items. It encourages self-expression through hands-on making.

Guinea Pig Rescue

Helping to home rescue guinea pigs, we take as many as we can from Lancashire Guinea Pig rescue, especially the ones that have waited a long time for a new home. They live in a mini Hobbiton space.

Rescue Chickens

Our egg producers were rescued with Lucky Hen Rescue in Wigan and now live their life free ranging, eating scraps and scratching the ground.
