How To Get Started With The Project

The Eden-field Project is a blank canvas which you can use to educate and support your peers or groups.

Our Aim

Great spaces is our ethos. We are lucky to have access to amazing spaces, and so it is up to us, as custodians of these spaces, to make them great spaces.

These physical spaces anchor us in the community we inhabit, and so we owe it to that community to deliver great spaces that serve the community they are in.

The Eden-field Project is the manifestation of this purpose, a space within the community of Edenfield which can be a great space that serves the community for the better.

We:

– work with and nurture the land

– open the space up to the community

– educate and share

– reinvest in to the area

WHO CAN USE THE SPACE?

Our aim with The Eden-field Project is to sustain the land, prompt conservation and  educate.  We are happy to host groups that fit with our aim.

THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER?

  • Have you got the correct insurance?
You need to make sure you are insured for hosting in a space like ours.

  • Our programmes run no matter the weather, will this affect your session?
We cannot hold an event in high winds or if a severe weather warning is in place. If this happens, we will host your event again for free.

  • Nature still rules here.
We have tried to leave as much of the space untamed as possible, it means some of the space and paths are not perfect, and this should be considered when using the space.

  • We are in a valley.
The paths are up downhere, some steep, some not so steep.

How Much Does It Cost

Building this project, maintaining this project, and developing the idea has monetary and labour costs.

You can help by booking out our space and providing a donation for using the space.

Your booking covers:

  • access to the land and its spaces
  • no bookings on the same day
  • help with promoting the event and getting bookings

Our donations is suggested at £20-£30 per group

Come And See

If all the above sounds ideal, then let’s have a chat. At this early stage in the project we are building it as we go and need to understand individuals and groups to make it work with our new space.

We have a full online pack you can use as the lead and information catered for your guests which you can share with them

Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty. Sturdy shoes are also recommended for exploring. We embrace the journey of the outdoors, this comes with mud, grass stains and weather.

We’re prepared for all weather! If it rains, we have sheltered spaces. Our main goal is to keep the experience enjoyable, rain or shine! We only postpone events in high winds or severe weather warnings for the area.

There is no onsite parking for us. There is parking along Bury and Whalley Road but please be mindful this small road can get busy.

We advise walking groups, bikes or public transport to all our groups.

"Eden-field Project introduced my kids to nature in a fun way! They had a blast cooking in the mud kitchen and exploring the woods. We can’t wait to return!"
